In the history of two and four wheels
In the centre of the hills surrounding Florence there is the Tuscan island of high speed, the temple of engines and of tire marks on the tarmac, the temple of great motorcycling and Formula 1 idols, the International autodrome of the Mugello.

Opened in 1974 with a Formula 5000 race, it was bought by Ferrari at the end of the Eighties and brought up to the international safety standards that were necessary for high speed circuits. The Autodrome is the location for the general trails and testing in the pre-championship times, for the new and flaming ‘Rosse’ racing in the  Formula 1 World Cup. Not just Formula 1 either, it is also the circuit for the Motorcycling World Cup (classes 125cc, 250cc and 500cc) and Superbike World Cup.

A 5200 metre-long tarmac track in the green hills of the Mugello, alternating straight stretches and curves. The longest stretch is the one in front of the pits, 1140 metres long, where pilots can achieve spine-tickling speed. Also 15 bends which make you catch your breath  throughout the whole track.

The Mugello International Autodrome is considered among the best International level circuits, both for the services offered and for the safety measures it is equipped with. On the track over its whole length there are 29 aerials for telemetric service (a technique using sensors to monitor the conditions of every pilot’s machine on the track ) and twenty spacious pits for the teams in the competition). Also spectators can use, along the whole track, natural tribunes.

For great events, the World Cups, a ticket booking service is also available; rental of one of the twenty-three lounges in the building placed on the pit lane also allow give use of a parking place and personal entry pass for as many people as are allowed into the variable-sized lounges.

To reach the Mugello International Autodrome from the A1 – Bologna-Florence, exit at Barberino del Mugello, and from here just follow the signs for the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello heading towards Barberino.
