In Radicofani, a small municipality in the Siena province immersed in nature with a fantastic view on the Monte Amiata, in these days the Statute of the first, and for the moment the only, "Associazione astroturistica astrofila", born from the will of a group of astronomy lovers who have set some important objectives for their own future.
The association in fact, owing to the association with the bio physician Alberti, means to promote the area, already very lively form a tourist point of view, with an initiative that sees the creation and installation of a star gazing observatory and thus favour a new tourist current, astrotourism to be exact.
The astrotourist project, unique of its kind in Italy, as well as organising the installation of a telescope, also sees the creation of a "Museo interattivo dei vulcani e dei terremoti" (Interactive museum of volcanoes and earthquakes, as well as the activation of learning laboratories and collateral activities.
The creation of the observatory find in the municipality of Radicofani its ideal collocation: the Siena province town, removed from densely inhabited centres, is therefore devoid of lighting in the surrounding area, thus becoming the best place for observation of the celestial vault.
The project dott. Alberti presente din the occasion of the "XII Settimana della cultura scientifica" in Tuscany also schedules the building of a number of dwelling units to recall the solar system, an internet portal, permanent campuses, courses at various levels and scientific publications.
