The «Week of culture» promoted by the Ministry of Arts and Culture «Culture is an open space» arrives to Tuscany and in Livorno to be exact the programme offers some exhibits that continue beyond the 21st of April (when the week ended). A way to get to know this coastal city in Tuscany through exhibitions, meetings and guided visits, all naturally free.
Sunday 21st of April Villa Mimbelli, seat of the museo civico Giovanni Fattori, saw the opening of the exhibition «Dal segno alla macchia - I disegni di Giovanni Fattori nelle collezioni civiche di Livorno», where the city pays homage to the artist-master of the blot, and it will be open until the 2nd of June. Over 100 recently restored masterpieces of 217 Fattori drawings, the property of the museum of Livorno.
In Villa Maria the doors of the «Largo cerchi di mura e facili barriere: le mura lorenesi a Livorno - 1835-1842» visual Research and Documentation Centre. A journey set up with the original projects of architects Alessandro Manetti and Carlo Reishammer which document the urban history of Livorno with scale models of the tollgates and a virtual reproduction on screen. Also previously unseen material from private collections which will complete the historical reproduction. The exhibition will end the 2nd of June.
