The vault takes on colour with "Studio Azzurro"
An atypical and peculiar space was used to set up Studio Azzurro, starting a new and important exhibiting cycle for the modern art centre Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena. The exhibition in fact has found its space in the vault built by the Banca d'Italia that used the premises before the Centro Arte Contemporanea.

The inspiring place is the strong chamber, which still maintains the furnishings and the original protection structures, and from the month of June there will be an exhibition of works that were expressly designed for this particular location.

Starting in the month of June, National and International artists are invited at the Palazzo delle Papesse to confront themselves with this unusual environment and give life to a continuous cycle of transformations. The events will alternate quarterly and will start contemporarily to other exhibits, in this case Barbara Kruger's show.

"Dove va tutta 'sta gente" (Where are all these people going), is the set up designed by Studio Azzurro and planned specifically by a group of artists among the best known and appreciated in their work about space . An original show that involves and interacts with visitors, aiming at impressing their senses and their spatial perception.

The set up that Studio Azzurro devised uses an interactive video installation. A technological vision that will distort this environment, closed on itself, into an expanded projection of what is real and what is unreal.

Fabio Cirifino (photographer), Paolo Rosa (cinema and visual arts) and Leonardo Sangiorgi (graphics and animation) founded in Studio Azzurro in 1982, making it a centre for artistic experimenting and audio-visual production. Stefano Roveda, an expert in interactive systems, will join them in 1995.
