D.O.C. Graduates in Florence
The university of Florence, in its Agrarian Department, sees the creation of a new three-year course in «Viticulture and Oenology », a work area that is in constant growth in Tuscany, a land where the best known and better exported DOC and DOCG labels in Italy originate. Tuscany, the land of Noble wines, of the Sassicaia, Ornellaia and the Vernacce.
The degree course in «Viticulture and Oenology» will provide all the necessary knowledge for the management of a cellar and the maintenance of vineyards. Subject of study will therefore be notions of marketing, company management, the ever-present Information technology and the knowledge of English. Also all the necessary skills to face and solve technical and management problems of enological companies and alcoholic beverages in general.
Entering the professional environment entails being able to work for the improvement, selection and defence of the varieties of vines, as well as the management and control of the working stages of the enological process, chemical, physical and microbiological analysis of the finished product and the management of the quality of the enological businesses.
