Blue skies contrasting green hills, cypresses standing proud in the horizon bordering the slow and wavy profile of Val d'Orcia. This is the image which best describes the territory in which the farm stay Cretaiole lies, a few kilometres from Pienza.
Six apartments, derived of a 14th century stone country house, reflect and maintain Tuscan country houses characteristics: cotto floors, stone chimneys, Tuscan period furniture and ceiling beams are the particular characteristics of the apartments. All of them have a kitchen, lounge with chimney, independent entrance and central heating, so that you may find refuge in this peaceful place at any season of year.
The apartments can contain from a minimum of two to a maximum of seven people with really interesting prices: from 30 to 40 euro per person per day, depending on the season, stay duration and the type of apartment chosen.
Cretaiole, however, offers much more than a simple stay. If your hobby is cuisine, for example, the Moricciani family, owners of the business, will teach you the art (because this is what it is about) of preparing homemade pasta, particularly the «pici», traditional and super tasty «large spaghetti» of the Val d'Orcia.
And then there are guided tastings for extra virgin olive oil, local wines and white truffle produced in the farm stay. And the possibility of engaging in sporting activities: guests can use mountain bikes, ping pong tables and a volleyball court, as well as a children's play ground in the business' estate.
And don't forget the beautiful places you can explore in the surroundings: Bagno Vignoni, Radicofani and the natural park of Val d'Orcia, just over half an hour from Arezzo, San Gimignano and Siena.
