Lunigiana, which for many years was a land of passage for travellers from Northern Italy, maintains the traces of its history in castles scattered throughout the green of its hills: for this reason it is called the «Land of the 100 castles».
In these enchanted lands where history is recalled through castles, powerful strongholds and mystical hermitages in the municipality of Pontremoli, you will find the Podere di Rottigliana.
Podere Rottigliana is made up of three apartments (from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 6 bed places) offers you the chance to discover the «Land of the 100 castles»: the owner, Susanna Savio, organises tours on a four wheel drive to get acquainted with the nearby areas, alternatively with your own means you can quickly reach the Versilia coast, the majestic Alpi Apuane and the white Carrara marble quarries.
You can still choose to breathe in the fresh air of Lunigiana diving into the pool of Podere Rottigliana, going on brief tours hiring the farm’s mountain bikes or perhaps, if you love to delight your palate, taste the farm's products: oil and wine.
From Podere Rottigliana you can easily reach other locations of interest both naturalistic (parco di Migliarino San Rossore and the antro del Corchia), respectively in the provinces of Pisa and Lucca, and of artistic interest such as Florence.
The apartments, normally rented weekly during the high season, as well as for week ends in the low season, guarantee an excellent refuge with average prices ranging from a minimum of 100 euro for the 2 person apartment in the low season, to a maximum of 150 euro for those with six bed places. For information call the number +39 0187 833 480 or the mobile 333 592 7240. The Farm is in Rottigliana a few kilometres away from Pontremoli, in the province of Massa.
