Spending holidays and days of relaxation in the green areas surrounding the town of Fucecchio (Florence) is no longer an impossible feat because of the lack of hotels or holiday farms. Various 'agriturismi' and holiday homes are sprouting up around the area and one of the most interesting ones is «La Bigattiera», old recently restored stables.
The structure is equipped with two independent apartments. Both structures have a chimney and a living room, two double bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. A country and comfortable atmosphere, furnished with the colours of the earth and the sun. An idela place for days of tranquillity strolling in the park along a charming lake or swimming in the common swimming pool.
If you prefer exploration to cosy laziness the area offers excursions in Fucecchio’s padule, in the Cerbaie hills or retracing the ancient trail of the via Francigena, the road connecting Rome with the rest of Europe.
«La Bigattiera» is also an ideal support point to visit the most important artistic areas of Tuscany: it is only 40 kilometres from Florence, 30 from Pisa, 25 from Lucca, 60 from Viareggio; very close are the thermal locations of Montecatini and Monsummano. Also, in the range of 15 km you can visit other places of remarkable interest, such as the Medicean bridge of Ponte a Cappiano or the cities of San Miniato, Cerreto Guidi, Vinci.
A week’s stay in high season, from July to October, costs around 775 euro and the room for a day 155 euro. In the lower season prices decrease to 620 euro for the week and 130 euro a night.
