The city of Arezzo dedicates another exhibition to the creative genius of Leonardo da Vinci with the show «Il Foglio del teatro», a journey through renaissance art culture with previously unseen work by the Tuscan polyhedrical genius, at the Palazzo del Comune.
The show reveals another side of Leonardo's creativity, not the properly scientific and mathematic but the work of Master of arts, of scenography and music.
The pivot point of the exhibition is a large work that sees Leonardo into studies for the scenography creation of Poliziano's Orfeo: a missing part of the Atlantic code shown in Arezzo with a reconstruction of the scenic machine, designed by Leonardo himself.
Some expert craftsmen have rebuilt the scenic machine, with particular attention to every technical ad mechanical detail. The machine will move owing to a computer reconstruction, which will show the movement of the scenes just as, around 1506, Leonardo da Vinci had designed them, in a magnificent union between technology, art and creativity of genius.
Together with Leonardo's drawings and the reconstruction of the scenic machine, continuing for some months there will also be the works of artists of the Florentine «botteghe» (shops/workshops) of the renaissance period: Filippino Lippi, Andrea del Verrocchio, Bartolommeo di Giovanni and Bernardino Fungai, which are on loan from a private collection in New York.
