The craftsmanship vocation of Anghiari every year reaffirms itself with the Mostra Mercato dell'Artigianato della Valtiberina Toscana (20 April – 1st May).

The town in the province of Arezzo will host, for about ten days, 55 crafts exhibitors who will find place in real «botteghe» (shops) in the roads of the ancient village of Anghiari. Arts and crafts which have made this place in the Arezzo province famous, a tradition that is sometimes disappeared though with ancient roots.

The working of wicker baskets, a tradition that finds in Anghiari century old roots; the ancient craft, unfortunately disappeared, of the Anghiari vase makers who produced pots, pans and bed warmers. Finally weapon construction: pieces of rare beauty manufactured in this municipality and found in the collections of Windsor, Paris and even across the sea, in Chicago.

From these ancient traditions, since 1975 the «Mostra Mercato dell'artigianato» has now become one of the most eagerly awaited appointments of the Arezzo area, where the art and craft pair cannot do without the making and aesthetical quality of the products.

The exhibition therefore offers all the sectors of the «handmade» of classic handcraft: from antique to working of iron, stone, ceramics and precious metals, but also cloth and leather. The Mostra dell'Artigianato is accompanied by collateral initiatives and exhibits.
