The Targetti group, based in Florence since 1928, is one of the undisputed world protagonists in the architectonic indoors and outdoors lighting sector. Targetti introduces itself on the world lighting market with the strength of over 70 years experience and knowledge in the sector, guaranteeing a range of products- over 3 thousand – which can interpret every type of environment and create luminous effects and scenography which can excite those emotions which only light can create.
The command word in the production of lighting equipment are technology, style and design. A situation which is constantly evolving adapting to market requirements with a constant commitment into research and in development bringing ahead the study, not only of the shape, but especially, the light’s substance with constant investments in research and development.
It is precisely for this end that the Targetti Group, as from 1985, has its own internal photo-goniometric lab managed in collaboration with the electronics branch of the Engineering department of the University of Florence. Iyt also has available a specialised internal structure, the Targetti Optic Division, which develops the study of the apparels’ shape and the substance of light: apparels with innovative optics, development of new materials, chromatic, corrective and Uv stop filters.
Targetti was called to light projects of importance such as: Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper, Michelangelo’s David, The Roman National Archaeological Museum; external environments such as Bilbao’s subway, Auckland’s cathedral, London’s Piccadilly Circus; Benetton’s, Bang & Olufsen and Levi's show rooms until Formula 1 Mc Laren and Ferrari motorhome team garages.
And to follow the continual evolution of the lighting market, in 1999 a non profit association sponsored by Targetti was created which could guarantee the keeping up to date of the sector’s professionals: the Lighting Academy La Sfacciata. A centre for research and training to promote and circulate the culture of light, and which offers itself as a meeting point between technology, art and design.
The Targetti group operates in 90 countries and offers consultancy services for lighting design, customer service and post-sales assistance. As form 1998 it has been in the Milan Stock Exchange.
