Easter commemorations and tradition
Easter is approaching and over all of Tuscany there are events and historical commemorations tied in with Easter, and the passion of Christ.
In the province of Florence an event is held which year gathers a very numerous public of visitors and tourists, attracted by how spectacular the representation is. Around 500 walk-ons in historical costume, accompanied by a unique scenography, set up during weeks of work by the organisation, take part in the traditional Historical commemoration of the passion of Jesus. The commemoration takes place during the night, starting at 9 pm of Friday 29th March.

Easter Sunday, the 31st March, another appointment is with the traditional Explosion of the fire cart. Starting from 9 pm the historical parade will unfold 9 in the central roads of Florence until reaching, at 10 o'clock, piazza Duomo. At 11 o'clock the stirring explosion of the cart with the launch of the columbine. And on Easter day they will draw the matches for the tournament of San Giovanni for the Florentine football.
