Siena's Consorzio Agrario has been focusing for over 100 years on the quality of local products, which have given character to a traditionally simple cooking. That's why, in order to promote the traditional ingredients which have contributed to making Tuscan cookery internationally known, Siena's Consorzio Agrario is organising Saturday Tasting. The mouth-watering rendez-vous at the Sosta del Granducato where you'll have the opportunity to taste the region's typical products and discover the offers of the day.
Every satarday, until june, there'll be a different testing in order to try and to know the Consorzio's products.
"The Cheese Saturdays" to enjoy the taste of Pienza dark cheese, spiced Pecorino, mature Marzolino or other sorts of cheese selected by the Consorzio Agrario in the best areas of production around Pienza and the Crete Senesi, accompanied by Tuscan honey, jellies and fruit pickles.
For wine lovers "The Wine Saturdays" to feast your mouth on the world’s most famous wines. From Brunello di Montalcino to Nobile di Montepulciano, on Wine Saturdays you can come and taste these highly prized wines. "Sweet Saturdays" with Cantuccini, Ricciarelli and Panforte Granducato to test the local cakes and biscuits.
"The Sauce Saturdays" to enjoy the pleasure of trying one of the sauces with pasta or a round of toastfrom: from olive sauce to truffle sauce and garden rocket pesto.
Unfailing "The Salami Saturdays" to savour a piece of history with the salami and cold pork meat from the “Cinta senese” breed: the world’s most admired pork meat, since Etruscan times. Salami, finocchiona, chap, sausages, capocollo and bacon are just some of the tasty products of the Consorzio Agrario which you can taste with the typical Tuscan bread.
