The art of ceramics
The working of ceramics in the district of Montelupo fiorentino is a reality as strong as it is ancient. Starting from 1983 in fact, the Agenzia Formativa Empolese Valdesa has been organising courses of professional training for the working of ceramics. The agency holds public regional courses for young people seeking first employment, public courses of re-qualifying (for those who already have a job), but also brief introductory courses to the artistic trade on a private level.
The centre’s training activity is a reality involving every year around two hundred students in the various specialisations. The course offer the tools to get to know the had working of the ceramics with particular attention given to profiles of artistic content: decorator, shape producer, moulder and turner and also the tools needed to create the necessary experience to seek working opportunities in the sector of the local or regional companies
