Holiday in the city? When Italians are forced to remain in the city and not take off for exotic places, the alternative in Florence is called Rio Grande, the new Brazilian "churrascaria" immersed in the green of the Parco delle Cascine.
Where once the Meccanò was, now there's the new venue that offers for four days, Tuesday to Saturday, a varied and fun programme to enjoy the warm city nights.
The week opens on Tuesday with the Brazilian show and it ends with more commercial music. Wednesday Rio Grande takes on the typical Rio de Janeiro and Copocabana bars atmosphere: dancers light up the evening with shows, music and entertainment. For those who prefer commercial music on the other hand there is space in one of the four dance floors (three external and indoors).
Thursday the Latin-American evening breaks loose with dancing classes for the main Caribbean dances: samba, rumba and cha-cha-cha. Friday and Saturday space to the Brazilian show with choreographies of Indo Olegui.
But Rio Grande's evenings do not end there. From Tuesday to Saturday you can taste the brasileira cuisine with a menu that offers the traditional Rodisio de churrasco: various meat dishes cooked on the grill. And then the unmissable drinks with their magical exotic taste: mohito, caipirinha and caipiroska.
